here's my contribution to the style debate:

Shut up.

Just kidding, but really to push the sport we need more kids. Boots/straps/strapless... whatever. I'm 29 and my knees hurt after a "legit" session, and I bet I am on the younger side of most kiters out there.

Its pretty hilarious when we go longboarding and start talking with these kids. Last time we saw one with his own homemade board, pretty cool.

If you showed those same kids this video or any kiting video they'd probably be stoked to try it. But these same groms who are piecing together a home made $50 longboard can't in a million years hope to buy thousands ($$$$!) of dollars in lessons and gear.

So the message to the industry shouldn't be make more wakestyle videos, more boots, whatevers... the message is to get more youth in the sport and their influence will push the sport. Probably in ways that we can't even imagine.

Mark,

Really!? I think this is the problem with kiting. We are losing the essence of control and beauty to volume. Ruben goes huge with something related to style, and as I progress in kitboarding my view of impressive is something inbetween the hardcore wakestyle and massive air. Watch what Hadlow is doing this year with taking his technical tricks a little larger... That is what I am finding as impressive these days.

But, to all you Gorge Wakestylers and Rail Grinders... What your doing is also way more impressive than this huck, hang on, and dangle move! Keep the hardcore movement rolling.

Kite on, Jon

word jon.

What is this a whole argument about wakestyle and bashing the danglers that I didnt start????

Yes maybe this sport is starting to change.... Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing
