does the wind ever blow in pacific city? i know the capes are right there. I'm heading out there for the weekend, and sure would like to kite. Is lincoln city the closest place? or are there some secret areas?

I have yet to ride the "northern coast", but Lincoln City is fun whether you're looking for waves, or flat water (Siletz). It's even a pretty decent drive for us when we're down south, well as apose to South Jetty. Manzo?

PC gets good- Turnarounds, straight out from the Pacific Ave. bridge is the best for north winds. The main surf spot at the Cape is too sheltered by the headland. This weekend doesn't look to happening for north winds though.

The stretch from PC up to Oceanside is ripe with exploratory options... with the wind this weekend looking bad for the n. coast, its too bad you may not be able to try it out. Happy Camp near Netarts at high tide is some of the best flatwater kiting around and Oceanside is very challenging wave sailing. All about 25min north of PC. Hit it up!
