I've seen windsurfers out there before. I would be careful. steep tree covered shore lines. I'll bet the wind has a lot of rotors just by looking at the lay of the land.

you would probably have much better luck kiting at cline spit (sequim) or Ediz Hook (Port Angeles) while you're out there.

C Johnson,
Do you find the WA marine forecast reflects the conditions at those spots very well? Thanks.

I usually go off of NOAA Central Straits forecast.

Wind on the water is a good site for checking it.

Small Craft Advisory 15-25kts translates to big kite weather. anything from 16m-12m

20-30kts usually means 12m-7m conditions typically they call that a gale warning.

Onshore flow and sunny weather is typically the recipe for some good evening thermal action. wind typically picks up around 4-7pm and goes all through the night. sometimes you can score the tail end of the push early the next morning as well.

If you are talking Oregon, if the wind is there ( i would think you would get the typical high Mt. lake thermals) it should be doable as it has sufficent Launch area and relatively clean wind . (if I remember correctly, it has been a long time since I was there) Allways take kites when you travel just in case Very Happy
