New Central Oregon Snow Kite Spot ??

Coming home from Eugene today I took the Old McKenzie pass for the first time and it looked like the Lava fields at the summit had potential for snow kiting. It would require a snowmobile as they are about 13 miles out of Sisters 5 miles past the winter road closure gate. Any locals know if there is enough snow cover at that elevation in the winter?

Every year I have snowmobiled there to look the coverage is never on those lava beds or most of the others around there. I have parked my sled with a ski partway in the obsevatory tru redneck style vroom vroom.

Keep trying , I know we have been.

People are pracicing mowing the lawn all summer then go out to the wilderness and mow the shit out of the alpine meadows really are a downer to the purists in thier all natural beautifully colored north face adventure gear , its a conflict.

If only it was a two stroke or something or shot bullets or donkey rockets. Wink
