I was the last guy to pack up at Stevenson today and I noticed some interesting behavior after everyone had left. Three different people showed up after everyone had left and they were looking like they were searching for something, didn't find anything and then got back in their car and drove away. One dude in particular seemed like he was looking for something very intently. I know some stuff has come up missing at Stevenson (dont' know if it ever got returned). But I wonder if there are people who regularly go by the site to see if anyone forgot something and keep it for themselves (or maybe I am just being pessimistic and they are making sure no one left anything and they post up anything they find on this forum).
anyways, just wanted to give everyone a heads up. By the way - I know there are people who will just stop by in the evening and check out the sunset cus its beautiful and peaceful out there - however, thats not what these people looked like they were doing. They seriously looked like they were looking for something, didn't find, and drove away again.

I never got my Teva sandals back. Although I'm not sure why someone would steal those. I do feel like Stringer and some others have lost pretty valuable things without ever seeing them again. Sounds like someone's out there grabbing stuff and not returning it. Bummer that thefts seem to be higher this year all over the Gorge.

Dude - what did the Teva's look like? one of the dudes that showed up late had Tevas on - I saw what they looked like. Would be interesting if they were the same ones you were missing.

On two different occasions we have noticed a couple of people cruise through late in the afternoon/evening as well. It seems to be more than a stop by to enjoy the sunset as they scoot right through, checking out the sidewalk area then the launching area by the rock before moving on down the pathway. Both times it left us with the feeling that we were glad we had picked up the left over pumps and sandals from the day.
Guess we all need to watch out for each other a little more.

Well on a happier note....I need to send a big thanks out to someone because I left my keys there on Sat and someone was nice enough to turn them in and Julie at the Port did some research and tracked me down (by my Fred Meyer rewards card).

I hate when people steal shit!! Lost Laptop/Camerbag etc, etc this spring in Texas after a smash and grab.
Sucks.. but we gotta watch our shit... and watch each other's backs with their shit.
