Is the Rev2 rebadged as the RPM?

No the Rev and RPM are completely different kites. RPM is more of a C kite with depower while the Rev is a full on hybrid and should offer a little better range. They are both good kites though. The RPM in my opinion is the best kite from any company this year, at least for what I have been using it for.

What Ian said Thumb's Up - though I find the 6 RPM to have a huge sweet spot - really really good for surf style

Just to add to Ian's description,

I've flown em both and I think the RPM has better range than the RPM. It's only like a c kite in the shape of the kite, but as far as feel it's a SLE.

It's a awesome kite, demo it! Very Happy

RPM Advantage: Direct steering, beter unhooking

Rev/Octane Advantage: Relaunch (works better with center line safety), tad more low end, lil more boost
