I don't think you guys should bash like that.
Whether or not it looks cool it takes skill and that all that matters.
Actually more important than that is the fact that he is out there going for it.

don't we have enough guys trying their best to lose their inter-gyroscopic bearings for no reason other than to impress those who might think twirling around is all that matters?
I thought it was supposed to be about having fun no matter your gear or your style...

I didn't realize it takes zero skill to fly the kite.
I think what gets me the most is the unprovoked attack.
We all know what it was like to get in to this sport and think (or in my case still think) this to be the greatest thing in the world.
I just wish everyone would stay as open minded as the day they started.
However I will agree, take it away from the people on the beach.
I'll admit I break this one a bit. I guess that makes me the idiot.

huh....so this is how creativity is welcomed......
props to the guy for trying new things and looking like he's having fun while doing it.
btw he was riding while holding on to the loop and getting decent air. that should imply the kite still has a fair amount of power in it. I would consider this as a shortcut to eliminate the need for trimming between hooked and unhooked trim settings.
i still think holding on to the bar looks more natural and probably has less chance of giving you rope burns on your hands or snagging one of your fingers on the loop possibly breaking it or even worse tearing it off if your hand should slip.
just my 2 cents
