BIG fire in downtown last night. Luckily for Everyone, Everybody's Brewery appears to be safe.

Thanks to all the local volunteer firefighters and the Hood River Fire Department for coming to our town's rescue!!

Just came from Everybody's and chatted with Doug and Christine....the brewery and other tenants of the Goodwill Lodge have very minor smoke damage (slight smell) and no apparant water damage. The art studio building (Blue Akerman and Roz) is totally trashed. The Artisan Jewelery building also appears untouched. Our volunteer firefighters did a great job! Super scary- you could see the flames from HR.

great work fire fighters. I always wondered if fire fighters were actually stoked that something was on fire "Sweet fire, lets go stomp that shit" or its more like "oh man, I'm going to burn to death".

Probably a little of both but hats off to you guys!!

Yeah, awesome job. Most importantly I am glad no one was injured.

Wow yeah thats amazing that the firefighters controled it so it didn't hit the other buildings. Wonder what caused it.

I never thought I would say this, but thank goodness there was NO WIND to fuel the flames!

Thanks for all the kind praise. It was over 102 degrees when this call came in at 7:20pm. Our guys did a great job getting set up and protecting the surrounding buildings. The Blue Ackerman building was one of the oldest buildings in town, comprised of old timber with balloon frame construction, so there were no fire breaks between floors. Within minutes the structure was consumed with fire and full of heat. So much so that we had to pull everyone out of the building and protect the surrounding structures.

We had help from Bingen, Husum, Cherry Lane, Hood River, Skyline Hospital, local and county law enforcement and Underwood fire. If you know anyone on these agencies, please pass on your thanks.

We want to extend our thanks to everyone who was courteous enough to give us room to work and thanks to those who gave us water and food. This was a great relief, especially since we were there till 4am.

Thanks to whomever posted these pictures. We're trying to gather as many as possible.

That Husum truck photo is pretty cool - great shots! It's a good thing the fire wasn't closer to the gas lines in the glass-blowing shop, and a great thing nobody was hurt.
