Im thinking to take the girlfriend to learn to kite in Hawaii in two weeks ( Aug. 8-15 ) Anyone know a reliable kite school that is safe and in a cool spot.
Maybe somewhere we can stay beachside, NOT a big resort. Maybe rent a house on beach or condo on beach. Walk out back porch to kite, is what Im looking for.
I dont know maybe this is a pipe dream, no pun intended. Anybody got some leads for me. Anyone got a place they want to rent.

thanks,

Enrique

Im headed to Maui that same week. What Island you headed to? I havent started my research to decide the quiver to bring. But Im getting ready to put my head in the game. If youre headed to maui, we should hook up for a session.

Kailua Beach on Oahu is one of the best places on the planet to learn to kite. Smooth light wind, warm water and a very forgiving downwind landing. My friend CaveMan (Tony Groman) was one of the first instructors on the beach. He will have you up and riding in no time and he also has lodging. Give him a call at 808-389-4004. Maui is gusty and kinda hairy for learning.

I would recommend HST

808-871-5423

kitelesson@davidcomp.com Cell 360-927-1106. He give lesson at Kanaha beach kite park (Naish Beach) I spoke to him personally in May and observed his techniques. He's does a great job.

Other option: Action Sports Maui
David Dorn

Both are IKO certified.
