Hello to our Kiteboarding Vendors,

We (Pepi and I) would like to say "THANK YOU" very much for all of your patience and understanding while the CGKA BOD's work through insurance, permitting and all other things that come along with having a "safe event" here in the Columbia Gorge for our sport. The CGKA BOD appreciates our vendors (kite companies and kite businesses alike) and we are fortunate to have the ability to work with all of you, and at the same time continue to educate and enhance the community we live and kite in. As you know, the Demo Days was postponed to a later date, and due to liability issues, Garret will no longer be running the event. With that, please see below the new date and some additional information for the event. Please note, that I (Janet) will be sending out an updated communication regarding some missing/additional items for the event in order to ensure that you are all kept abreast of what is going on. For now, we (Pepi and I) wanted to make sure that you at least had the date for the re-scheduled Demo Day(s), we are hoping that this will be a great event, and have extended it to two days, as well as added some additional "activities/side items" for all to enjoy. Event Name: CGKA DEMO DAYS (looking at a different name such as: kiteboardorama, kiteboard festival, kiteapalooza???)
Event Location: SandBar/Spit in Hood River, Oregon
Event Date: August 14*-16th. 2009.; *August 14 from 6-8pm is for vendor registration and set-up. As this is a first come first-served basis for vendor space, whomever has all their required information in will have first pick and so on.
Event Time: August 14 - 6 to 8 pm; August 15 - 8am-6pm; August 16 - 8am-6pm, 6-8 vendor break-down, 8-9 clean-up, 9pm gates lock.

Event Activities: to be provided at later date. Slider Fun? Clinics? Music? More to come...

(We have some things in the works right now, as this will be more than just a demo of equipment, we want it to be a community involvement "event" and also have more for people to do while they are there during the weekend. We would definitely like to have a raffle and some giveaways here and there throughout the weekend, if anyone would like to donate items, please contact Janet, all proceeds would go to the CGKA.)
Event Cost: $175.00 (Check payable to CGKA @ PO Box 1112, Hood River, Oregon 97030 or PayPal @ admin@CGKA.net). If you have paid and do not show, we cannot provide refunds. We are limiting the amount of vendors, and if one does not show-up, then that takes away from another vendor who could have participated, with that, we need to ensure everyone shows-up, especially since participants are expecting vendors there.

Vendor Requirements:
1) Vendor Registration Packet: Will be sent-out via e-mail or posted to CGKA website, will provide at later date. (registration, insurance, liability waiver, guidelines)
a) Vendor Insurance: We need an insurance card stating you have general liability, completed product liability, accident coverage, as well as athlete participation and water inclusions. If you are unsure of whether you have these, please contact your insurance carrier.
2) New Equipment: With insurance concerns it was stated to me that it is in the best interest of all of us to ensure that the products demoed are "new" products, to ensure that everyone stays as "safe" as they possibly can...
3) Vendor space payment.

Please note that the "vendor space" monies CGKA is collecting for this event, go directly towards our mission of opening and maintaining our launch areas. Some funds may also go to off-set the costs of our insurance to hold the events throughout the year.


Due Date for Vendor information will be: August 1, 2009, however please remember, this is first come first served.

If you are a vendor, and you have not received an e-mail communication, please let me (Janet) know, and you will be placed onto the distribution list for the event.

A general post regarding the CGKA Demo Days, will be placed for the general public in the next week or so...
