Hey Thumbwar - not sure if you are trying to make a good impression or not - but telling Blaze to go F herself is probably not the best way to introduce yourself - neither is asking fill to marry you. Phil is a cool guy and all - but pretty sure he is not available.

As for this post man - we generally do not compare brands. Brand x vs. Brand Y - generally doesn't happen cus people just get into pissing matches and it doesn't help inform anyone. Best bet would be to demo the gear cus everyone has a different experience with kites.

or you could go and play with the euros www.kiteforum.com - compare all the gear you want over there - not sure it is all that helpful though.

Take it easy.

I actually think that the no brand vs. brand threads is dumb, yea i said it, it needed to be said. Why can't I compare a crossbow and a rev and a helix or a torch and a fuel give me one good reason why not. I think that there is some value in comparing kites with each other.

There are other forums where you can compare brand to brand. Pretty redundant to do it here too. Also, IMHO a comparison is next to worthless unless the reviewer has 10 - 15 sessions on each kite, something that almost never is the case.

Reviews of individual kites are allowed, and yet we almost never see an in-depth review. No surprise there... Of what real value is "this kite is great & that other kite I rode only once sucks"?

Lots of reasons why comparisons might or might not be worthwhile. In the end it comes down to Phillip says no and it's his forum. Very Happy Phillip has created a great place to hang out here, and I'm not going to second guess any of his rules.

How am I doing for being F'd up on percocet & rum? Seems like I should have some better posts... Very Happy

I have to agree with Nak. Personally, I don't care what others think of each different kite, I want to ride it and decide for myself. We all want and expect something different in our kites. This is why I am pissed we didn't get our demo day this year. Evil or Very Mad

For a long time I was with you on this mschulz - however, due to the immaturity of some of our members I have changed my mind.

I feel that comparisons can be helpful (not authoritative - just helpful). People can talk about their different experiences and what not. We are the only sport that I am aware of that does not discuss gear - most other sports talk shop 24/7 about their gear.

However, just do a search through some of the past threads and someone will make some innocent statement comparing something or another and then someone gets all butt hurt and starts talking shit. Just watch - post a thread that compares SS to Best. See how many posts before it turns into an all out death match with people threating to beat the shit out of eachother. My guess is it would take about 7 posts before someone gets kicked off the forum for talking too much shit.

With that being said - I would like to compare my 9M waroo with my 10M LF Havoc Laughing Laughing Laughing My waroo has better wind range - but the LF is a hell of a lot more smooth and stable Twisted Evil Twisted Evil Let the trash talking begin!!!! Bwahahahaha!!!
