Sun Jun 28, 09 3:33 pm deep water launch |

In the past i have always launched a kite from the beach and moved to the water with my kite up. Now I am on a lake, great consistent wind but there is no beach. The water gets deep quick and the shoreline is lined with large trees. I can eaisly get to the center of the lake away from hazards but I am looking for advice on setting up and launching a kite in water where I cant stand. I have done deep water re-launce but not first launch. My biggest concern in having my kite in the water floating while I un-wrap my lines and try to get them taunt so I can launch. I have yet to try because it seems.....well, scary. I do have access to a jet ski but while floating it would seem hard to have someone stay near the edge of the wind window since the wind pushes the boat and kite downwind. any advice would be rad.
also congrats to the slider crew, f-yea boys! |
