| I was wondering if anyone might spill the beans on the new SS and Naish gear? I've heard rumored big changes in Naish, and assume the same for SS |

Wow, that leading edge seems to be exact opposite of all the reasons they give for the sigma shape. The sigma models and demo made sense to me (see link below), but if you buy into that marketing copy, then it's really hard to justify the Charger's leading edge.

The Charger looks like the Waiman kites.
Oops did I just compare two kites? |

the wainman kite is an out of the box delta kite, the charger has the geo tech...ie straight sections between the struts. |

Are those straight sections better or worse for performance? _________________ MS |

According to this site:
http://kitemovement.com/2009/06/18/2010-naish-kites/
"2010 Naish Helix - Rounded off Sigma, Geo-Tech removed for more pop and height in jumps"
So apparently they decided Geo-Tech was either a problem or impeded the desired performance on the Helix. _________________ Lets FLY |

....who knows why a designer made the choice s/he did. Maybe they were looking for a different feel, different qualities? It certainly does not invalidate that the current helix before perform well. It seems to me you are comparing apples and oranges, and all that really matters if the kite is nice....
I mean they continue the geo-tech design on both the Cult, and now the Charger kite.... |

Well obviously the Naish guys feel they are better.
I think many people that does not ride them say is gimmicky, and people that flies the kite feels it is not.
As far as I understand it, the thought is that straight sections helps the kite amongst other things turn faster, since instead of just distorting the wing tip (how we make a kite turn), you twist the center of the kite etc. |
