Headed down south for my niece's wedding, can anyone tell me about the area around Oceanside, Ca. or Carlsbad as far as where to go, maybe what size sail to take. Any advise or insight would be appreciated.
Thanks![/list] |

don't bother to bring any wind sport gear.....maybe a surfboard if ya got a fish, or sumthing for small shorebreak.
a skateboard is also a good tool in carlsbad/o-side area. |

June has been a bad month for wind in So Cal. A few good days here and there @ Longbeach -> Santa Barbara. Not worth bringing the gear if you plan on staying in the SD area, as BtC stated. If you have more time, and don't mind driving north - you may get lucky and hit a 9m - 12m day or 2.
Surf has been good tho - A few solid South swells have hit w/ some real nice & clean OH + days. I would watch the swell forecast, and see if it's worth bringing your board (or renting one).

| Belmont Shore is only an hour or so North. Its a great spot. Looks like it was rideable today and maybe yesterday for a while. ikitesurf has a sensor there. After your session walk 5 or 6 blocks up to Taco Surf for dinner and a cold one. |

if you go to San Diego, your best bet for wind is Silver Strand Beach in Coronado but its about 30-40 minutes from Carlsbad. San Diego is famous for winds in the 8-13mph range. They are stoked when it hits 15! _________________ Marina
