In tradition of monkey posting pictures of himself kiting, here's some shots of me with the new custom GoPro kiteline mount. A couple of images but check out the video. It may take another hour to process before the link is up.

irony, me taking a picture of someone taking a picture of a kiter, while I am kiting...

wow! that setup produces great images, not sure if it's the perspective or what but they give off a really 'good' vibe! nice.

the setup is sweet!
I've been using a similar system behind the boat for writing up tutorials... i'd do it for kiting, but...well... i suck...

but I think it would be a great tool for teaching tricks... the nice thing is, you get a close up view of what to do during a handlepass mobe say...

I likey!

Would love if it mounted up higher just a tad bit more. Gives more depth perception on the jumps. Looks like it needs the compression tension of a dual depower rope.

Love the video and photos! Great mount setup, it looks really professional.

The GoPro camera is the best bang for the buck out there. I've been using mine for a while now. I've tried it on my helmet and kite and it works great! I also put it on my chest protector when I ride dirt bikes.

I made a custom mount for the center strut out of plastic and velcro. It just raps around the center tube. I also use a leash since I already lost one GoPro to the Columbia River!

I just bought a Panasonic DMC-TC1 Waterproof camera. It shoots 12.1 MP photos and full HD 720P video. The lens is nice because the wide end is 28mm. I'm testing it on my kite right now. The first time I fucked up and put it on sideways:oops: . The video quality is unreal and I can adjust the zoom to whatever I want. You're going to want one Stringy!

Ugh. Im wiping the puke off my monitor right now. I think one of the video editing software things will help with the rotation motion.

Nice image quality and video. Are you on the closest zoom? Not being a smarty pants but what is 720p HD. Does that shoot high def or is it a enhanced version of standard def 720p?

GoPro = 512x384
480i = 720x480 (standard TV)
720P = 1280x720 progressive (High Def TV)
1080i = 1920x1080 60fps interlaced (High Def TV)
1080P = 1920x1080 30fps progressive (High Def TV)

Interlaced is where every other line is displayed at a time. This is the way normal TV works. Progressive is like a full frame photo. Kind of like film.

Here is what the helmet cam footage looks like:
