Ok, I never have subscribed to iwindsurf for data. Only places I wish I could get a reading was the event site, Florence, Manzo and sometimes Rufus/Maryhill. Free info on the net seems to get me by.
The east gorge iwindsurf page (http://www.iwindsurf.com/windandwhere.iws?regionID=219&snapShotBar=snapShot) posts readings from various sensors. The John Day sensor seems to have been stuck on "NORTH" for at least a year now. Is the wind speed at least accurate? I figure that by reading Roosevelt and the undisclosed speed, but disclosed direction at Maryhill, I can get an overall semblance of what is going on out there.
Love Rufus, but only hit it about once a year as it is quite east from PDX and I'd rather travel long distances (100 miles plus one way) to the salty waters of the great pacific.
But no wind at the coast and I'm itching for the river swell, warm temps, and strong winds. Looks like rufus is the call today! |
