Just jumped to 13 and swung a bit more west... Both good signs. I'm thinking of heading there? The Gorge is supposed to have a big mid day lull according to Temira. Ikite doesn't think much of Jones today, but they don't seem to have that forecast wired. Last time I was there the gust factor was only showing 12, yet it was solid 11m wind.

Yeah, I think I'll try it. I'll leave Camas in 30-45 minutes, unless Stevenson jumps up in the meantime! Very Happy I'll bring beer...

if by getting any you are referring to ice cold beers, boredom, and frustration absolutely Laughing. i stopped by willow grove park on the way back to inspect looks O.K. it has warning signs about undertows and currents. previous post warned that boards may get lost due to the current. i was thinking that it cant be any worse than Rufus. heel straps or boots was my first thought on reading the post, but i guess that's not such a great idea. it just looks like there is a potential for an awful lot of butter there.

Willow Grove does have several butter spots that are sweet but the currents is a bitch!!! It is really strong Evil or Very Mad There are undertows, someone dies there every summer. I hate that fuckin current!! Lost my brand new board to it last night!! If its blowing 10-15 ride when tide is coming in.
I was on my 16m and my new 138 best board last night and the current was taking my board faster than I could drag in the lighter wind. I wear a leash there but it snapped after my crash landing Sad
It may look a little gay but I have a GoJoe on my glide and it has been a total board saver for willow!!

Lots of ships, logs and people. be careful ridin there.........

Keeping an eye on Jones as well.

You can find the gradients under the Wind Sensor Listing on the Forecast Page. Click on the Jones Beach sensor and you will find the Astoria to Kelso gradient.

http://nwwind.net/wind.php?region=9&sdate=2010-07-08

Jones sensor is already at 6-10 out of the NW. I have found the sensor reads light.....if it averages 10-12 then its solid 12m.

Jones just picked up. 10-14 avg 12mph. Should build through the afternoon with a solid .04 Gradient....temp difference between Astoria and Kelso is 16 degrees Alien

Gonna watch it for another hour or so and make the call.
