I recently picked up a 06 caution answer 9m kite ( no bar or lines ).

What size bar caution bar does this kite take and what are the standard line lengths for it?

Also, what is the standard wind range? I weigh 165.

Thanks for any info you could give me.

I downloaded a manual but not sure this info is in it. If it is.. sorry I'm so dense!

Thanks again.

Hobbs

Probably something like 20-30mph (roughly). Beware of those kites overflying and stalling. They depower decently well, but that also can cause it to fly too far to the edge of the window and fall outta the sky. Forget what size bar it takes though. It did turn really fast as I recall so maybe you don't need a huge bar.

I'm sorry. Was it just lying on the side of the road?

Hardy har har! Wink

Actually, it was sitting at the bar looking vulnerable...

No, I traded a 7'2" surfboard for it. I'm moving to Austria and couldnt take the board so I asked around locally for a trade and I "picked up" the kite.

Yea, 45cm is good. I never had the caution bar for the 9m, as the throw wasn't enough to get the added range I like from the kite without reaching for the trim, so I made my own with a longer depower line. Just make the front lines a few inches longer than the rear. (kinda to your preference, really) I personally like a bit of backstall in the kite when the bar is all the way in.
As far as bars that could be purchased and used as is, I tried my eclipse nano's bar and it was fine. Lines were the right length, plenty of throw, and multiple tuning options.
Hope this helps,
Scott

Defintely NOT a kiting destination.

We have a 1 bedroom place. It's small but the location is great..right in town walking distance to everything. Even the closest lift, if I feel like a 15 min hoof! If not its like 3 min by bus.
