Looking at getting another motorcycle. My last bike was a GXSR1000 which I sold in 2004 I think. Looking to buy another bike, and there are a lot of nice ones out there. I have fallen in love with the Ducati 1198. Anyone out there ridden one and have any inputs?
I also like the new YamahaR1, but its not as sexzy

Well I looked at getting one of those, but they wouldn't let me take it on the track
So I back to the original question

| That bike is pretty sweet as well, but starting to get dated. I actually like the way this looks better, froma pure performacne standpoint, the Duc wins hands down over the MV.

I got a 2006 PS1000le. I was considering an 848 but I loved the naked classic looks of the PS with the green frame and Ohlins. Its not the fastest bike out there but it likes to wheelie with just a twist of the throttle.

I have sat on the 1198 but not ridden it. However, did just ride the new Streetfighter which is basically the naked version of the 1198 with a little more rake in the fork for a more relaxed feel. It was an amazingly easy bike to ride fast and has an incredible motor. I was a little dissapointed with the lack of low end grunt compared to my Superduke. It definitely felt more track orientated. Just from sitting on the 1198 next to the Gixer I would say the 1198 has a lot more track focused riding position. It is a gorgeous bike though and it sounds amazing. If I was to buy a bike number two I would put it on the top of my list. I would not want to live with it as my only bike. Talking with the shop owner he told me he would buy the 848 over the 1198 because the power is more manageable which makes it a lot more fun on the track. It is definitely worth riding if your local shop has a demo.

Cool, thanks for the info.
I like the 848 but I think it might be a little cramped for me. I will have to check them both out.
