What time is the demo and where?

We have the CGKA Clean-Up on the SandBar at 10:00am Saturday, and we have a BBQ as well. All food has been purchased for the CGKA BBQ that evening....

Have WindDance and CGKA talked at all because I think that is needed to ensure that everyone is SAFE and that there are not two big BBQ's going on and wasted food/money, etc......

Shouldn't conflict with the CGKA event but it will conflict with the party that the Trew crew is throwing the same night at the pub.

seems like somebody should have thrown a party or BBQ seeing as its a holiday weekend.....that's weird...

Bummer, we never heard about the CGKA bbq. Maybe we can join forces. I can get some of the Ocean Rodeo crew to help with the cleanup before the demos start and if you want to do your bbq'ing here at Windace you can, Free Beer, DJ, Sushi, Swag

Thanks Pepi, that was my concern.

We will have vehicles, chain saws, people, etc.... down on the spit cleaning-up, and we really can't have demos going on at the same time. Plus, the insurance and permission from the port for the demo to take place is a concern. I wouldn't want to see us burn bridges with the port, and the kiting community does not need anymore bad press, so working together is key, and ensuring all permissions are granted, and ensuring everyone is safe is what is important.

Not sure what time the BBQ is on the spit, but CGKA would need to talk with Naish, as they are providing the keg for the clean-up/BBQ and I think out of respect CGKA would speak with Naish about teaming up for a BBQ with another sponsor (Ocean Rodeo) so it's one big party, unless we are doing it in the afternoon! No matter just wanted to make sure people were on the same page:-) Thanks for offering up more hands for the clean-up, much appreciated. Feel free to take a look at the post on NWKITE about the clean-up...

The other thing is the "local clothing company" party that is going on that night, we should be showing our support to them! It can be done going to different parties in one night, but I think in the future with kiting events, it would be great if we had a calendar of events posted through the CGKA website for everyone to keep track of what is going on where around the gorge for kiting. Building relationships between CGKA and the local kiting community (including shops) is important, and ensures a safe and fun experience for all.

Dave-you might want to talk with Jim the president of CGKA just to get the details of Saturday, such as the contact person for the day, and the rules and regulations from the Port, etc....

We think its a great idea for people to chill at the CGKA BBQ at the spit and then visit the other events at Windance and the TREW Party. Looks like we have a great day and evening planned!

9:30am-wake up(home)
9:45am-coffee(1 of 50 shops)
10:00am-clean spit(sand bar)
3:00pm-ride new kites(sand bar)
5:00pm-eat BBQ(sand bar)
7:00pm-free beer(Windance)
9:00pm-free music, gear(Horse and the Hound)
