Major Access Issue in NY, please sign our petition

Hi All,

I am posting on behalf of the New York City kite community. We are having our very first serious access issue to one of the best spots in the area. It is a launch site for downwinders, no one even stays there after a launch. We have put together a proposal for a solution and are going to be approaching regional leaders and politicians. We are trying to get signatures together.

NWKITE is one of the most active kite communities in the US and I am hoping you can help.

We ask that you go to http://www.nyka.org and sign the petition. Please forward along to friends if you can.

Would it be possible to make this a sticky for a week or two?

Weird? My firewall blocks the site as a spy site. The link directs you to NYKA.ORG, but that page immediately redirects you to a new page. The new page is blocked as a spy site.

If this post is legit, you guys need to be aware there's a problem with your site.

I'm using ZoneAlarm, which blocks the page as a "Known spy site".

NYKA.org forwards to a online free petition service. Quite a few local members did some searching to go through all the free petition sites online and settled on this one.

what is the reasoning for prohibiting kiteboarding on that spot? Is that location designated for commercial use or private land? Do tell.
