Thu Apr 30, 09 4:50 am size 9-1/2 to 10 mens shoe for kid in need |
|

As you know I teach students with exceptional gifts and some learning differences. All of my kids are low income, and or receiving free lunch etc.. These kids are between 10 and 13 years of age and full of life.
Getting to the point I have a boy in my class who needs a used or new pair of tennis shoes. He is currently wearing a size 7, way too small, and needs a size 10 or close to that.
If you have a pair not being used and you would like to have them worn out really quickly let me know!

PS~Our program collects and distributes used and new donated jackets, jeans, shoes, socks and t-shirts. If you have donations of clothing give a ring and let us know what it is and we can find a student who needs it and will appreciate it.
May the force be with you,

Ron,
Our teachers' union has a special fund for kids in need like this, as do the HR Lions Club. Contact the counselor at HRMS for details. It's pretty easy. We buy coats for kids in the winter all the time.

I have 2 kids in my room who wear size nine. PM and I'll figure how to pick em up.
Right on! I knew there would be some "broham's" with shoes laying around and I can fill em.
Thanks Erick I will give her a buzz!

Hi Ron,
I'll be back up there around the end of May and will stop by with donations. Had a great time meeting those kids - they are really good kids and very respectful. I've got some basketball shoes that would fit; I'll give my Mom a call and if they're in my condo up there I'll have her drop them by. Also I've got some jackets and shirts.
Take care!

I might even be able to get some more sensors for the LabQuest and bring it by with more experiments. Is class still in session around Memorial Day?
Take care!

I know that it is not kiteboarding content, but I figure if you have shoes, old t-shirts, etc.. These boys tend to like the same t-shirts, and skate type shoes as most of us middle aged kiteboarding junkies do...LOL!! What does that say about us? We are not so different from generation to generation. However, I'm still struggling with rap, but I guess that will come.
Thankyou Pete, and all of the others who have contacted me via pm.
Have a great eastern day! I'm thinking a downwinder from ss to row. _________________ Hey, I'm being hahahahahrassed! |

GOOD FOR YOU MAN!!!!! I like to see us taking car of the younger generation, they are going to be the ones changing our diapers! I wish I could help, but at this time my wife and I are putting everything we have into some fosterchildren. Every extra bit of time we have is given to respit care for a friend that has a child from a REALLYYYYYY bad situation. We have spent our time with this child trying to get her to feel secure. I hope to take her to the gorge a couple times this summer. Get her out with a training kite. I will keep you in mind. Another thing you can do is contact me and I will get you ahold of a friend of mine who runs Zoot Sports wear, they are a triatholon company, mabey we can set somethingup for you.

Hey Ron-
Had some trouble PMing you on this, so I'm going to try it this way. To wit:
You know, I never thought of it, but there probably aren't a whole lot of guitar shops out there in the Gorge... Anyway, I'll have the shoes for at least a few more days. I'm holding a porch/yard sale next Saturday, and will probably put the shoes out if I haven't heard from you by then. In any case, I think I'm gonna hold onto the Keens, but the rest of 'em are yours if you're around anytime this week.
So I notice it says "instructor" on your profile... Who do you teach with? Or are you a freelancer? I'm working with a B3 (and starting to get the hang of it) at the moment, and will be looking to take some lessons at some point this summer, maybe June, maybe July. I'm looking at schools in HR, and any insights or opinions you can offer as to who I might want to go with for instruction would be much appreciated. The one thing I'm sure of is that I don't want to be thrashing around while spending a shitload of money on lessons, so at the moment I'm concentrating on getting the fundamentals dialed in with the trainer. And having fun doing it, I gotta say... Take it easy, man!
Cheers,

Mon May 04, 09 5:00 am All of the schools on the spit are good! |

Hey Tommy,
Sorry for the late reply. I was busy kiting yesterday afternoon! SS on a 10mtr. nice...
I'm a level I IKO instructor, but I don't teach currently. I worked for New Wind and like how Jim Bison teaches, but anybody with a spot on the spit is more than capable of teaching you and doing it wel. The prices at the spit are comparable and include jet ski lessons as the premium. Jet ski is nice because you are one on one and in deep water, you will get there.
There are several free lancers and if you pm me I'll give you the name of a guy who's the best in Hood River.
Take your time and learn to fly the trainer with your eyes closed. Go to the beach and talk to kiter's, ask questions and get a pair high powered binoculars and watch lessons. the video's are a good way to see the skills, but when it comes down to it you are going to need to spend some coin on lessons and a high quality kite. _________________ Hey, I'm being hahahahahrassed! |
