Just wondering how accurate that is? I think I saw it reads the wind that hits the Mic...? Is that correct can that really be accurate? Someone should measure that with a real deal and the Iphone!!! If it really works and its accurate thats bad ass!!!!

That's my friends App!! She says that it works really accurate up to 25 knots. then there is too much distortion. I'd try it, but I don't have an IPhone.

It actually works pretty damn good. it was within 1 knot of the officially stevenson sensor last saturday. I tried to record 30 mph winds out the car window but it was recording 26...

When its blowing 30 though, you probably have a hole in your head if your wondering which kite to grab. it would be cool if it recorded max and min in addition to the average. Cool Ap for sure!! Another well spent $.99

I think there is a potential drinking game with that app. close your eyes and try to blow a particular wind speed. Loser drinks.

I don't think I'll take the time to get it into the appstore.
But you can add a link to any webpage on the iphone by pushing the + button in the safari browser.

Thanks for this!! Web sites optimized for the iphone don't go in the app store. like OP says just add to home screen from Safari (makes driving and wind checking a tad less hairy Wink )

ikitesurf has a nice wind app in the app store.
Works way better than using their website to check wind.
Can use your GPS location to "Find stations near me"

By the way, I've been using windonthewater for bay area readings, and some of the Third Avenue stuff has changed. The cam is now here: http://arbor-studios.com/thirdavecam.html

Jack put up new real-time sensors with a cool flash app here: http://arbor-studios.com/weather/
