So this is the fuse. And I like it because you have the option of riding twin tip, and or "going either way" LOL
The pads are just as you see them in the pic, very thin and not to much padding. However, in surf big pads woudl be a little bothersome.
I'll let you know what I go with.

| Sure, you can jibe it, not really sure why you would though. Seems like more trouble than it's worth.

Ya know when your going out on the coast and you feel just a bit sketchy about going out back side? This eliminates that and allows for transition time. I ride regular and I've taken surf boards out at the coast, but I prefer the option of having a twin tip and a directional.
It's misleading to imply that the fuse doesn't jibe like a twin tip. Of course if you set it up as a pure directional then your locked in, but if you set it ballance, center the foot straps, your twin tip option is there.
I actually talked to Doyle about this board and that is what he seemed to be going for. The only difference between 08 and 09 is the flexibility of the material.
This board is the shizzle for my nizzzle.

| Just a little communication breakdown. When I said "why would you jibe it", I didn't mean a chicken jibe, but a take your feet out and switch your stance jibe. Chicken jibe is what the Fuse is made for, not what you would do on a directional.

| The fuse is really fun on the waves..... until the waves get big and you tack back towards the beach hoping that the wave is going to break too soon. Then when you race down the face of the wave, pearl the tip, go over the falls, have your kite get munched like a wet hankie, and fear for your life. That's when the fuse isn't so fun.
