Wed should be pretty nukin at jones beach (by Jones standards). I'm predicting 30mph. Anyone else got a prediction?? Question

I will be hitting it along with some other guys from Longview and Olympia.

Went yesterday and it was pretty good, very steady wind. Going again today.

Let me know if it goes off on Wednesday if you make it out. There is not much of a temp differential between PDX and Astoria so I am a bit skeptical.

BTW, Has anyone ridden Cooper Island? Surveying the area from Goodle Earth it looks like there may be a large shallow area which may be sweet.

Worth a try, but the winds at Cooper Island might be flukey and holey from the taller hills west of there. Many times I've gone up to "Nuclear Alley" for the goods. In the windsurfing days it was the place to be over Jones because the wind is always a meter size stronger there. Because of the prevailing direction, the wind is also cleaner over in the Alley with less gusts and holes. There's also some nice butter near the sand island in the Alley, it's where I got my first "jibe" in windsurfing a few years ago. Bad place to break a line though as a few of my friends have hitched ride back to Jones with the local fishermen after a kitemare.

I just picked up a 11 ft. inflatable with a 15hp outboard. Count me in.

As far as Cooper goes I was thinking it might be possible on due west wind and was planning on scouting it out a bit. I agree if there is much North in it it would be in an wind shadow.

Looks like Jones is at 16 now on IKite, higher on the water I am sure.
