| I just put up a post about this on my Facebook page, and would encourage y'all who are on FB to do the same. I've never even seen snow-kiting, and I'm pretty sure that few of my friends have either, but a good number of 'em are climbers, and having been a climber myself for nearly twenty years, I know firsthand how important access issues are in that community, so getting climbers onboard can't hurt, I figure. We'll boost up those signatures exponentially if we take this thing viral!

For all you facebookers, I started a group called the US Snowkite Association on facebok and it would be great to have you all join. The more of us that join, the more powerful we are when it comes time to fight issues like losing access to snowkiting in the wildeness.
Thanks

Signed.
Makes no sense to ban snow kiting in wilderness areas.
Maybe they'll have to ban back country skiing too? Snowshoeing?

Latest Forest Service Communication!
We need help; I have contacted the Blue Ribbon Coalition and other public land protectors with no response.
I have contacted the Lewis and Clark School of law in hopes of getting a Professor and students to try and help.
There has got to be a lawyer that kites and is willing to give us advice.
At this point the only thing we are doing is waiting for the FS to make the law and then show them the petition when the time for Open Public Comment is and I feel that will not be enough.

Their definition is pretty lame. If that is how they are going to define mechanical advantage “Harnessing Wind for transportation”, they are going to have to out law skiing as we use “Gravity” to transport us down the hill.
So next time you are out in the wilderness, you can use your skis to go up hill and on flat surfaces, but they better not see anyone going down hill. Ha. What a load of crap.
