Tue Apr 07, 09 5:22 pm Guess the first day of NW'erly downwinders on the strip |
|
|
Today for us.
Good times.
2 downwinders.
No waves----pretty flat---schloppy 3 foot mush waves.....but fun wind.
Flew a 12 on the first and a 9 on the second.
Iredale down to....?? down there somewhere.
Dodging the crab pot buoys.
It's on.
Did you go Jason?

I am not boasting but Monday was really the first day. Stronger wind, huge swell. Troll and I were lonely and happy up at the jetty. Today was probably just as good wind before we got there. But the waves, the WAVES!!! Looking forward to a great summer Norbisonic!

Yeah man....yesterday looked amazing.
Had to get up and sling my net in the bay from 3 am to 10 am to try and slay some salmon.....so I spent the afternoon recouping (napping)
Definitely in the NW pattern now though...hoping for a better summer than last.

Not so epic at Newport for Genek and me - total wind shut down on arrival - built all morning till 2pm (sensor read 24) and then the big suck
too bad - the waves looked nice - went body boarding with the shortboards (actually pretty fun) must remember to bring the longboards - think it is the Russian curse

HA---true I am no pro.
No worries. It's all fun.
My boat is an upriver flat bottom tri hull....a little 25 footer.
I fish in front of our house on Youngs bay.
I am just out there for the freedom and the challenge.
Gillnetting isn't easy pickings like people think.
This 52 inch sturgeon was a fun 2 am surprise.

Thu Apr 09, 09 4:24 pm Today was NOT the first sweet SW day of the season |
|
|
Because sweet SW days are year-round!
But today was sweatin-in-the-5-mil warm!
The S and the SW were battling it out....fun shiny sunny ones on the outside...
