I've got a request. Is anybody willing to volunteer to be a one on one trainer instructor with a group of kids?

Hey Scriff, you might approach niervanna if you participate.

Let me know if you are interested.

This sounds more like a One to Many position?

So, as you all know I'm an "instructor" and I have program similar to HRMS, but it's a little different. The students are just as athletic, but require some more in depth behavior support.

There will be 6 students, 2 HRVSD staff(myself and my assistant) and a supervising IKO Level II instructor, and 3 1 meter trainer kites. SS 1.0 meter kites, light winds, and hopefully sunny conditions.

I will set dates based on availability of volunteers and school schedule. I'm sure that we will be doing multiple sessions between May 4th to 8th, 11th to 15th, 18th to 22nd, and June 1 to the 5th.

Of course we will be following IKO curriculum. We will also make sure and fly the kites only in 1:1 supervision with the support of staff, and under the guidance of the IKO level II instructor.

This is a chance for NWKite community to work with those less fortunate kids from the Hood River Community. If you do volunteer, we will hook you up with your choice of a grilled chicken, burger, or soy for the veggies. We will also have a mini banquet to be determined based on budget.

If you are interested in helping please pm me, or you can post any questions you may have. At this point I'm know we have the kites, but we still need the level II instructor to supervise. I'm going to be asking a couple of guys that I know, but if you are an experienced level I and you are willing to be a supervisor let me know.

Thanks
Ron

Bulae, those kids are great! I had a blast working with them and if I was still in the area I'd gladly spend more time there. Good luck! Less "local" talk and more local action... step up to the plate!
