I burned up my old 1st gen Oregon Scientific
yesterday on a mtn bike ride.
I noticed the vid's with the GoPro
http://www.goprocamera.com/index.php?area=2&productid=1

just wondering if anyone has tried the
new Oregon Scientific ATC5K?
http://www2.oregonscientific.com/shop/product.asp?cid=6&scid=14&pid=896

looks like the OR is slightly more,
but smaller and shoots higher res video

any thoughts?

I've owned several helmet cams. For most of the sports I like, having a wide angle lens is important. The 53 degree field of view on the oregon scientific cam is too narrow for my liking.

You might be a lot happier with the go pro wide angle's 170 degree field of view.

the surf mount is cool, i wouldn't mind that as an add on, but i'm primarily looking for a helmet mount.

FYI, you're not the cheapest.

We have the Gopros. We sell the same camera with different attachments. Helmet , surf , rally. The helmet cam package is the most money for it comes with more types of hook ups. I have been thinking of demoing out my GOPro to my good customers . $30 per day, 1/2 refundable towards purchase of a GO Pro.
