It'll make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside next time you wipe out.

Does that mean when we pee in our wetsuits we're actually improving the water quality in the Columbia?

I like the reply that EB posted:
"Oh Beautiful for smoggy skies, insecticided grain,
For strip-mined mountain's majesty above the asphalt plain.
America, America, man sheds his waste on thee,
And hides the pines with billboard signs, from sea to oily sea. ~ George Carlin"

One of the things that concerns me is the fire retardants accumulating in the fish...has anyone else noticed how long it takes to BBQ those fish, lately?

Okay, so I'm a lttle new to the forum.. Call me a "kook" and finger right back atcha (not fond of that description). But, I don't get how this subject hasn't been commented on that much after over 500 people have viewed it. WTF? What can we do about this? Can the Columbia be cleaned up or do I have to worry about glow in the dark parts because I love to kite here? There are so many smart and inovative people in the NW and on this forum. What's the solve?
BTW: Great Carlin quote, Kitezilla. Really clever.

Glow in the dark parts are Punk Rock I'm thinking I'd rather kite in the Columbia's DDT's and PCB's than the Willamette's CSO's

maybe Kiteboarding for Cancer could take on a new role... education the public about the river's health and activism to improve it.
our health as kiters depends on the river's health- there is no reason to believe that long term exposure to those toxins wouldn't spell cancer for ourselves.
perhaps this role belongs to another organization. surfriders- river riders, maybe a new group?
