Looks like there's gonna be goods for the gettin' this week.
Clear skies, east wind, and wunderground is calling for highs 55-65 at Astoria Cool
Hundred rule and then some!

Plus 10' swell for you surfers.

Hey Stringer, I'm new to Portland and am curious where these Ponds are at. What is the quickest way to get there from PDX and what kind of riding is out there? I'd be interested in checking it out.

I stay with my bro in PDX sometimes and would like to know the location also ? Or is this a "secret location"

RR was blown out today, smoke on the water all the way to Corbett Confused & Mad

FYI- Water level is to high even if you wanted to go out!

Ponds should be ripping, but heading to the warm Mtns, for some butter corn!

Def. Not a Place for newbies or kooks..
It's a small area, so learn to get out of the way and you'll do just fine...
Hasn't been a problem w/ crowds but I bet this place would really suck,
if you see 50 kites on the water....
Place is really tidal influenced so check the tide chart...
This weekend, tide should be better in the afternoon, unless you like to play slip and slide on the mud - right stringer Laughing....
Should be fun...

The ponds are at Ft. Stevens on the North coast. Off shore winds, strong current, and a fast tide make it unfriendly for beginners. Otherwise its a great spot.

I might bust out the drysuit and hit it up this weekend with you guys.

I will be there for a bit, but only armed with a camera and beers as Im waiting for the sweet sunset beach days to hone my skills so I can be on the local ponds every weekend next winter. Smile Smile Smile I have been out there a few times to scope it out and it is quite intimidating to a beginner, confirming that this tater fried double wide will have to wait for the spring/summer sessions. I'm down to hit it Sat/Sun. Meadows will be a total zoo anyway. Anyone know of any cheap hotels?

You might want to try the KOA just across from Ft Stevens. They have some nice cabins and they are probably real cheap this time of year.
