KB4C's Aaron Hackel hard at work.

PODCAST #137:

Inspired by the highly successful Kiteboarding for Cancer event founded by Tonia Farman and Dr. Garrett Zalen in Hood River, Oregon, Canadian Aaron Hackel and the Degelman crew have been working around the clock shaping, sculpting and constructing the Taylor Volkswagon KB4C Canada event site. Dubbed ‘the first of i``ts kind winter kiteboarding terrain park,” the unique fundraiser is scheduled for February 14 with a back up day on the 15th. To be held just outside Canada’s fifth windiest city, Regina, the event will support the Canadian Cancer Society and consists of an endurance race, a high jump and long jump competition and silent auction.

The Montana Snowkite Rodeo has grown into one of North America premier snowkite events. This year’s rodeo will be held at a new location in the Mount Haggin wildlife management area, just sounth of Anaconda, Montana. Kite races, parties and good times are just some of the activities planned for President’s Day weekend, February 14.

Joel Beatty explores the backcountry around Mt. Haggin.

Our guests on this week’s ASNews.net and The Kiteboarder Magazine podcast are KB4C Canada organizer Aaron Hackel and Montana Snowkite Rodeo’s co founder Joel Beatty of Montana Kite Sports. Got a question about either one of the events or the snowkiting conditions in their local areas? Post your questions here by Thursday, January 15, 5p PST and we’ll get your answers! The podcast will be posted online the evening of Friday, January 16.
