This deserves another look. Thanks TrickyNicky
Anyone followed this path ? Bammer ?
Anyone ready to ditch this snow and not come back ?
Best quote ever ! (angry girlfriend)
"What the hell are you talking about ?
Kitesurfing ?
How are you going to make money ?
Are you out of your F'ing Mind ?
You Can't Leave !! "
If you're not happy, sometimes you have to give it all up to find what you're looking for.
How sport, lifestyle and culture can help you find your way.
Director Mark Hannah and Producer Remi Drozd bring you a short story about leaving the ordinary.
This nine-minute film explores having the courage to leave a stressful career in the pursuit of what makes you happy.
Set in Chicago and Hawaii, strong visuals throughout the film show how sport, lifestyle and culture can help you find your way.

Hey Pete,
Too funny... Is that a Hewlett Packard engineer? I see that Ben Meyer is in some of clips, and Heidi and Inga are sitting on the the beach. My bet is that I am about ten feet outside of the camera shot. Guess I would rather be looking at Heidi as well.
Just do it! You can just pull the trigger or continue to die a little bit each day at a job that you despise... The reality is that you don't need tons of money to live a truly happy life, and girlfriends that don't get it are just another anchor holding your personal happiness firmly stuck in the mud of consumerism...
See you all soon on a beach somewhere...

I was ready to pack my bags and then I watched the video again. I failed to notice any baby strollers, diaper bags, or car seats in that dudes luggage. Who knows, maybe I will just leave the grid one day and live in a nice cheap house on the beach in Hawaii. I hear there are allot of them around.
Maybe I'll open a bar in the philippines.

MonkeyBoy...
Definitely hear where your coming from... Not advocating people dump their responsibilites... I was lucky enough to not have any entanglements when I jumped.
Maui is fantastic and working in the industry is great, but sure miss the NW and all the great people. Remember that the grass always looks greener and that the NW'ers also live in a pretty amazing place. I am sitting here looking at all the snow piling up with a bit of envy.

I want to leave my career and kitesurf forever but I got diabetes and need to have this stupid 9-5 job to have health insurance to pay for this expensive ass medicine! Anybody know how to kitesurf for a living AND get health insurance to pay for insulin and whatnot? Mack from Hood River has Type 1 diabetes like me and seems to be out kiting a lot but I don't really know how he does it yet even though I remember asking. I am just going to keep asking on NWKite every few months until somebody knows how to help me Find My Way!

Seems like there are plenty of guys that rip and still hold down a job, have a wife, raise kids, etc. Probably plenty of guys that do all those things right on this forum.
Of course, if you have some cool hobbies, plus a career, plus a family, no way will you have the time to make a self congratulatory film celebrating how extra-ordinary you are.
