OT: Nelscott went off!

There was some truly epic action on the coast today. The reef was pumping 25'-35' monsters, and we were freaking out when we pulled up to the cliffs..... Surprised

.We got there around noon and looked like a scene out of the surf movie Riding Giant's. There were a dozen tow-in teams and another dozen dudes out there paddling in (legends like Gerry lopez, Mike Pearson's and even Jack Johnson's little brother), and spectators and photographers all over the cliffs. Around 2:00 some super clean sets came in for the paddle-in contest, there was a sequence of waves where six riders dropped in on their own wave one after another, and you could tell they were "going off" out there. You could hear people cheering down the cliffside. We didn't even consider bring kites, but we were pretty stoked to see some killer OR surf. I got some sick action on Stringy's vid camera and hope to put some thing together as ASAP. We also bumped into Richard Hallman and got the first peek of some really high-end water housing shots. He's captured some amazing pics while riding a Jet-Ski right out of the impact zone.

I crapped myself when they started paddling in, then I finally got cleaned up, and then I saw that third pic in lance's post...
I can't wait to see some of the on the water photos/video!
Anyone got the lowdown on the results?

PS:
did you guys see the stunt skier who got messed up when he went for a backflip or something and fell of the ski and got HAMMERED by the next doubleoverhead+ barreling wave and got separated from the ski and got dragged in to shore while the ski bounced around in the surf for like an hour?

Not trying to be a dick but its Gerry Lopez, but thats super sick that it went off today and with good weather too, I really wanted to go and watch this year, had it been any other weekend than thanksgiving I probably would've gone.

Nice shots Stringer,

That first shot of the beach break is Otter Rock Local, Surfer/KiteSurfer Mark. SecondBeach break shot is Jason, Lincoln City Local. Can"t tell who is in the south reef shots but we got multiple bombs on it. Super fun day even if most of the guys that surf that wave every time it breaks got relegated to the leftovers due to BS politics!
