Sat Nov 29, 08 5:05 pm Think I'm getting scammed... |
|
|
Here is the correspondence that I have had with a potential buyer. Not sure if I'm getting scammed or not, but think they are setting me up. His brother called me, and said I need to send him an invoice so he can be sure that my paypal account is verified. Seems fishy to me. If I send them an invoice, is there a way for them to access my paypal account? I already had one guy do it just by getting my email address, so am wary.
For some reason, I always feel like I'm getting scammed when they don't speak English very well.
Start from the bottom.
Hello Peter, my brother is going to call you, cause he is in US i am in Bulgaia. His name is Bobi, his number is . He'll call today or tomorrow. Have a good day from me:))

I'll sell it for $350, plus shipping to where you want to ship it to. Paypal only.

sounds like a real person, trying not to get scammed.
I think you can request payment from another paypal member thru the paypal website. Maybe that is what he mean't by invoice?
It seems like its always a hassle to ship oversea's. Good to take extra precautions. |

Seems OK I guess. I know what you mean by being skeptical of people not speaking english well.
I don't know exactly how they could scam you - but they could claim that they never received the item and try and get their money back?? Not sure though. _________________ Still rockin gojos, *ssless chaps, and ankle weights! |

Yeah, familiar with the whole paypal invoice thing, but I emailed a guy who I was trying to buy something from, and just with my email address, he was able to take money out of my paypal account.
So, just worried about someone scamming me some other way through paypal. |

Maybe you need a more secure password then on your Paypal account? Did you inform them of this issue? _________________ The Slider Project, LLC

"ok my friend, deal:))) send the paypal invoice to bgshopper@hotmail.com, the address in 700 Ardmore ave, apt.612, Ardmore , PA19003 , Borislav Froloshki.

In your paypal account there is a tab where you can request payment from someone. You must provide their email address. Paypal then sends them an email requesting the $ which they respond to by making the payment using the link provided.
If the accounts have been Paypal "verified", paypal will release the funds quicker instead of waiting for payments to clear the bank.
Once his payment is officially clear and $ are available to you, you send the gear to the address provided.
His response looks normal other than the use of the word invoice rather than the request funds terminology that paypal uses. |
