Have any of you seen these before>? They seem like they would work awesome for skatekiting but then again, I know nothing about skateboards really.

I have a carve and they don't work so well for kiting because they turn so much they just round way up wind. sweet for skating tho.

We have a demo of the big wheeled unit. $20 . They are loose and carvey. Hard to drive in a straight line. Huge fun locking turns down hill.

I would say go to Gorge Performance and have them build you a board on their biggest deck, with the widest trucks and the biggest downhill wheels. That would probably be the trickest set up.

I got a set of 80mm alloy hub downhill wheels from Bob a couple of years ago and they roll over anything on blacktop and have super low drag resistance.

Also great for long cruises through the neighborhoods.

for what its worth, i've rode a carveboard under a kite here in heber, UT. the trucks are very loose- so you get a great unstable water feel to it. it's like riding a strapless surfboard with very large rounded rails at low speeds. it was great fun jibing and sliding out the slick tires on the grass at the soccer field however. i would think that maybe the model with the smaller conical wheels would be more fun on pavement and hopefully the smaller wheels would mean you wouldn't have as much leverage on the trucks and it wouldn't be so snappy.

Thnaks for the input!! Seems like I should just stick with my sector 9 long board. seemed cool to be able to really lean into a turn..but not so cool to turn so hard and spin out.

If anything I'd look into seismic trucks.

Check what durometer harness your wheels are. You could probably pick up a pair of softer wheels that will give you a bit better traction.
I also like to use a bit wider board than the typical Sector9 skinny longboards. The wider deck gives you a bit better pressure over the inside wheels, giving you better traction.

Pepi's got it.

Wider is better IMO.. I have some old Indy trucks on an old G&S fish tail....
Then throw on a pair of OJ's and let r' rip!!!

The new OJ's are super soft, and super cheap...

I got mine at Daddies.

On another thought.., what about some rainskates...? Probably pick up a pair of those too...
