what do you expect trying to kite on a mountainside???

One look at the clouds and i Knew what was going to happen. Nice old "C" kite too with virtually no depower.

Only takes one mess up to never kite again, I would advise anyone who want to "chasta" down a hill to take some paragliding lessons, learn about thermals and perhaps get the right equipment

one line breaks and game over.

"old C-Kite" ??????????

Were you watching the same video I was. That was most certainly a foil.

Your point of the weather is well taken. Seems like he was a little close to the wall there too. But I don't get the part in the article where it said people were critical of him for using sea kiting technique on the snow.

Yea,

I think your right, could be a foil...hard to tell with youtube quality.

Sea kiting technique that's funny,....must be coming from a guy who dosent know much about the sport. A kite is going to handle the same no matter where you fly it. What the change is, is that upwind is downhill. It takes a long time to get the hang of flying backwards, looping the kite to come down. I got a good loft last year...pretty scary when your all of a sudden over the tops of tree's.

as snowkiting gets more and more popular you can expect to see these videos. I hope nobody gets hurt or worse. I tried to find the youtube video of a guy 30+ ft in the air when a flying line near the bar snapped. Not only did he fall, but the kite pulled him out of balance. Good thing snow can be softer than water.
