So this is totally OT. I am taking my GF out for dinner and was looking for some input. The restaurants pimps are even worse than the kite pimps (no offense) so I don't know if I can trust Portland City Search.
I was thinking French or Italian and I was looking at Il Piatto.

Anyone been there or have another suggestion?
I'd like to go somewhere that isn't played out. I'm hoping to get out with all courses + booze for 200 or so.

il piatto is good and has a very romantic setting. I had their pumpkin ravolii a couple weeks back and it was mackin for sure.
Another VERY good restaurant is Torro Bravo. They serve spanish tapas so you can get a bunch of different things. Their cod fritters are out of this world. Very cool place that serves food that you don't typically get to eat.
Either way two people with drinks will be under $100

Cafe Mingo ROCKS!!!!
NW Tuscan style food (Yeah that’s Italian food), located on NW 21st, just north of Johnson st.
It is small and quaint. You better get their by 6 or you can forget about getting a table. Dinner for two and a bottle of wine and your right at $100. Guaranteed that she will like it and make you take her back..... |
