Who wants to spend 2 weeks living on a catamaran and kiteboarding all over the British Virgin Islands? Take a look at this:

Quote:
Join us on the trip of a lifetime spending 2 weeks onboard a catamaran exploring and kitesurfing the stunning British Virgin Islands. The islands feature a choice of flat water or wave riding locations in 15-25 knots of wind as well as white palm fringed beaches, azure waters and a chilled out vibe. The catamaran features multiple living areas, ample deck space, a swimming platform, an on-deck shower, a sound system and spacious accommodation with private bathrooms. This, our third voyage in the British Virgin Islands is to take place late January, early February 2009 which is post peak holiday season, the middle of the windy season and also the middle of the surfing season. So, if you are interested in spending two weeks in paradise kitesurfing, surfing, snorkelling, swimming, exploring, partying or simply relaxing, read on…

We can not go this year and I contacted Royce from OceanFusion about a charter for 2010 but he had sad news:

Quote:
Hi Guys,

Thanks for your enquiry. I was planning on starting a fulltime kitesurfing
charter business, however the market does not seem to be large enough to support
a fulltime operation, hence me only doing annual trips now. I was underbooked in
2008 and made a huge loss (the boat costs £7,500 for two weeks) and given that
my 2009 trip currently only has 5 interested parties and I need 9 to make it
work I am unlikely to go ahead with it in 2009 let alone another trip in 2010. I
was pretty devastated that the full-time dream has not come off, but I do
recommend visiting the BVI's.. every person on one of my charters has claimed it
to be the best holiday ever!

Cheers,
Royce

If anyone wants an amazing adventure this year (so this great idea is still available next year for the rest of us Wink ), check out their web site http://www.oceanfusion.co.uk/holidays/.

The trip is 1200 British lb per person for 13 days and includes breakfast, lunch, and some dinners. I did research for other catamaran trips in the same area and the least expensive were $6,000 to $10,000 per person for ONE week without having a captain who knows where to kiteboard.

A few years ago we looked into doing this and Moorings was the least expensive at the time on their shared cabin yachts to either Tortola, BVI or Belize. www.moorings.com Last I heard, one of their captains is a kiter and he's taken quite a few guests on kiting-centric routes. Smile

I was there for my spring break. I went with one of my good friend's parents. We rented a 51' catamaran from Sunsail. Cost i did not know. We started our trip in Tortola and went to Virgin Gorda the next day. It has short sandy beaches. But long enough to kite. The scene was amazing, white sand and light blue water. I saw devil ray and turtle(sounds like kevin). March wind was okay. Need big kites and boards. Then we went to another island Anegada, which is completely surrounded by sand. Also a very good place to kite. Surprisingly, there weren't much waves.

Basically, if you found wind, drop your anchor and pump ur kites!

Besides kiting, snokling was fun too. We found an 18 century cannon. The famous drink over there is 'painkillers'. Gives you good memory but bad hang over the next day.

Things over there is very expensive! I would love to go back there again, but way too expensive.

That sounds like an awesome trip!!

It really is the coolest - if you get lucky with wind and weather - if you get shut out on the wind you can always snorkle and fish
