I think we got the first tracks of the season on G'town lake. A few others showed up after we started kiting, including a nice guy (Dan) who introduced himself.
About 3 inches of ice. It was snowing all day, but only about 1.5 inches of heavy snow accumulated. It was 10mph gusting 15. Super light, but fun. We got my brothers 16m caution up, which pulled like a truck. Hopefully it'll be cold and snowy.
I'd definitely still be careful on the ice, and get some local knowledge, since its been warmer than average.
I'm stoked to start snowkiting in Oregon now. I'd love to hit Mt Hood or St Helens with anyone...

ps: we checked out mt Haggin. There was NO snow on the ground, and it was raining there on Sat, not snowing, like at gtown lake... kinda sad.
We need our own Gtown/Mt Haggin in NW Oregon!!!
Surprising Mt hood/helens aren't better.

Not looking good on the web cams  They are calling for snow but less than 1" each day.....unless the forecast is way off and they get dumped on I am gonna hold off until the next event later in the year
