| Is there a good way to modify my 2007 bar/lines so that I can connect my leash below the bar? |

I assume he's talking about using it as a safety though, correct?
If so, there's more to it than just adding the CSS bungee. Here you'd be much better off getting a '08 T3 bar. Yeah, it may be possible to build, but you'll end up spending quite a bit in the end.
To convert, you'd need an '08+, 800lbs front line set, CSS guide (which runs through the upper Snowman ring, 5th line Active Stopper ball (has the extra hole), CSS Bungee, and CSS lower ring.
If you are infact just looking for a place to connect it below to hook up suicide, clip it around the chicken loop rope. You'll hate it when you accidently hit the safety and your kite flies away (if you hook onto the normal loop). |

| Adam's right, unless you can cut the cost by making your own lines, by the time you're done you'll spend as much as just buying a T3 bar. If you are good with splicing line, you can make your own line set for cheap, but you'll still have to obtain the other parts. The biggie is the line guide and snowman ring, as Slingshot doesn't sell those separately... If you can find the parts, make damn sure you're extremely comfortable modding bars. If you do it wrong, the safety system won't work. |

I am looking to keep the same safety charcteristics (complete depower) that come from a stock set up. I just wanted to get the leash below the bar to prevent it from tangling with my lines and get it outta my face.
Thanks guys

I used to put a ring on my CL. I'd launch it in the above the bar location, but once I was on the water I could put it on the ring. Problem then is you have a big ass long leash dangling from your bar.
I've also known people who have put a ring on the end of the trim strap knob and they just leash it to there. The trim strap will pull through if you release the bar as it did on the original TD kite. Its still not 100% flag out safety, but its not bad.
But your best bet is to just buy a T3 bar. They should be on sale somewhere since SS is blowing out the T3s on discount right now. |
