Got nuked out at RR today at 1:00 pm.. wind gauge pegged out above 35 kts steady.... Gust factor..???? Wish I had a 6m or 5m. Probably could have gotten up on a trainer Laughing

Nak...Saw you over there on the other side of Corbet as I drove home. Looked a bit better over there.

It was doable, but still pretty wild.It would blow pretty steady 30 -35 for a few minutes, then these devil winds would roll through. Felt like a rotor off of something. it would drop radicaly and the kite would fall dramaticly, then get hit by a 40 mph gust. after 90 minutes I was beat and called it a day.

One guy was riding out of Cottonwood in the main channel. Said it was fluky getting in & out of Cottonwood, but the channel was pretty good on a 9m. Someone else riding Camas till about 5.

Looked to be a lot steadier than out East.

Very Happy

BV was total survival kiting for me. I only took two tacks before throwing in the towel.
I probably could have held it down if it wasn't so gusty, but I wasn't having any fun as it was.
I stopped at camas on the way home and caught Rico out there at the mouth of the Washougal.

hit Bv after work around 5:30. Still pretty shitty but not as crazy as it was in the am. Went from sining the kite to big gusts. I guess it was kiting..but not really.

I did have a funny thing happen. I was self launching with my bar tied off to the roots of a big tree on the beach. Got the kite all set then was walking bag to the bar. All of a sudden the bar (with huge piece of now broken tree root goes flying past me). Embarassed Evil or Very Mad

should have taken it as a sign.
