Hey,
Can you add larger fins to one end of a twintip to get more of a directional feel in waves......sort of like the Slingshot Fuse? If so how much larger than stock fins? |

Additional fins will give you more bite into the water, but the real deal that makes the Fuse work is the rocker, softer flex and rounder outline(results also in narrower tail).
If you've got board that you don't care about damaging with extra holes, then it couldn't hurt just to try it out.
Or
Check in at 2nd Wind to see if the demo FUSE is in your price range, then you can have the real thing.

I was just at Gorge Performance yesterday, and they have both new and used slingshot fuse's, both at a very resonable prices. You should go check them out.
The fuse is the way to go for learning in the surf and it also work great as a light wind board. |

I am heading to Thailand in 8 days, Chumphon to begin with. I have my SX 151 and 137 in the deceiver bag along with a 16 & 13 ant two harness. I don't think the Fuse fits in a deceiver bag, or I would have given it more of a thought.
I was looking at an old slingy Drake sitting in my garage, and the fins on it are a way different shape, sort of half moon. They certainly have more surface area and the holes are the same, and can be put right on the 2006 SX's. Think it might work? |

| there are no waves in thailand, when i visited (We went thru champhon) i think you'll be set with the twin tip boards and the kites you're packing. it is pretty much lighter wind kiting there. |

A Glide fits in the deciever bag, just barely. It's not the windy season yet in Thailand; if it were me I'd bring a glide along if I were bringing kites. I have an SX-151 too, and the glide gives me a good 4 knots more lightwind capability. Just a thought... Have fun there man! Thailand can be infectious. |

| I am there for 6 months following the wind. Hopefully will be reporting in occasionally, with some utube videos. |

Wow, you should have a ton of fun!
Even in the windy season, Thailand doesn't consistently produce stronger wind. You might want to consider something with more lightwind capability than the SX151 for the lightwind days. There are some shops there too, of course.
Out of curiosity, when are you leaving? I'm flying PDX to Tokyo next week... |

I am leaving PDX Wednesday 10:45 PM.
I am hoping for a chance to ride a directional while there. Perhaps purchase one.
No doubt it will be a blast. Websites for Chumphon "claim" 20 knts 80% of the time November and 90% December. We shall see how much hype that is. |
