Okay, for those of you who have been patiently waiting, the details are now being finalized!! (thanks to Jim and the CGKA)

2nd Wind Sports, IPS Skate Shop, The Slider Project and Timberline Resort Presents :

The 2008 Pray4Snow Movie Premiere/Party

When : Oct 18, starting after dusk

Details : Hood River Sandbar/Kitebeach- We'll have 8-10 20m2 kites pumped and tied together to form a huge-ass awning tent where we will be premiering some of this year's latest ski/snow/backcountry flicks on an oversized movie screen(Thanks Bam).
Liquid Force, DC Snow and Rossignol will be providing their LARGE demo tents for extra coverage in case of rain (we're runnin' this show come rain or shine, dammit!).

Weather : We are seriously going to run this even if it rains a downpour. Bring a rainjacket or some stiff beverages. The fire will be burning and the tents will be dialed. Dress for a campfire party in the outdoors. We live in the NW, dress accordingly and you'll be happy.
Fire : WE HAVE PERMISSION TO HAVE SOME BONFIRES, BUT!!! WE CANNOT BURN ANY NON-ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY MATERIALS (SORRY, NO SNOWBOARD OR SKI SACRIFICES, BUT WE WILL HAVE SOME NICE FIRES FOR WARMTH AND LIGHT)

Food and Bevvies : Since we are not able to obtain a liquor or food services license, we are recommending that individuals be prepared to provide their own food/bevvies. The Slider Project may possibly work on a solution for this.
Playtime : Outdoor movies, big-ass kite tents and snow.
DC Snow will be working on trucking in some snow if we can pull it off, so we might even pull off some sliding. Did I forget to mention the Liquid Force "GRINCH"! Yup, it'll be there as well.
Donations : We will be asking for a mandatory donation of $3/person - Since the NW Avalanche Center has received some drastic financial cut backs this year, we want to dedicate all proceeds from this event directly to the NWAC so that we can all count on having our local avalanche and weather forecast services available when we need them.

Volunteer Help : We would really love to have some help in setting up the kite-tent (don't worry we're trying to get a compressor), setting up the projector, getting the music and power dialed in, and coordinating safety issues. Please PM me if you can help out. I can guarantee to you this will be fun to be a part of.

We'd like to thank our event sponsors for all of there assistance in helping us to make this happen:
Rossignol/DC Snow/Atomic Snow/Liquid Force/MatchStick Productions/The Slider Project/Columbia Gorge Kiteboarding Association/Jon"Bam Bam"Malmberg

Thanks

Thanks Brian, and to those others that have been PMing me to help out.

Just got off the phone with the marketing and park directors for Timberline Mountain and they are on board to help us out with the party.
The park director will be working with the Slider Project to see what kind of slider demo they can work out with the Grinch, as well as trying to truck down some snow (totally weather dependent).

Should have some good shwag from Dakine, Smith Optics, Tickets from Timberline, DC Snow, Rossignol, and Angel/Anarchy eyewear.

Big props to the Slider Project team for stepping in to help with logistics and other work (thanks Forrest and Tekko!).

Stay posted for more updates.

Pepi

SUUUUUUUUUHHHHHHHWWWWWWEEEEEEEEEETTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for stepping up to the plate Mixwell, we promise to make it worth your while.

Also, Wally from IPS Skate Shop is partnering up with us and providing the dump truck for hauling the snow down from Timberline Resort for the Slider Project Crew.

Somebody better damn well have a good camera around for this event.

Pepi

BTW - Thank you to those that have volunteered to help set up. We can always use more people, so don't be shy. The big kite tent and the power networking are my main challenges right now, so let me know if you can help out.

Lance,
Hope Florida doesn't work out for you.. sorry.. but the local HR crew needs your eye and lenses to really document this thing as it deserves.

Getting bigger and badder every day!

Hope you can come out.. in all your strobe glory!!

Erica and I just tested out our tent idea linking a couple of 19 and 20 meter kites up to make the super tent. It worked awesome.
We will definitely need help getting these kites zip-tied together, pumped up and then anchored correctly into the ground, but it will definitely be something to witness.
So far we have 5 19m2 AERO kites, 2 20m2 Wipika kites, and a couple of other donated kites to add if we need more coverage.
