We're putting together a sweet Pray4Snow movie premiere party this month to be run down on the HR Sandbar.
We have most of the items we need to make this a killer bash (8 19m2 "C"kites for making a super tunnel tent, Grinch for towing skimmers, movie projector, sound system, Demo tent, bbq and movies).
BUT, we still need to borrow a power generator that we can use to power the projector and sound system.

Is there anyone out there that has a modern (ie-quiet running) generator that we could rent or borrow for the night of Oct 18th?

More party details to be posted as soon as we get the permitting completed with the Port.

Thanks
Pepi

Pepi,
I could hook up a 2000 Watt (4000W Peak) inverter and batteries for silent power. Even charge them with Solar Power for a emmisions free event.

Do you know what the power requirements are for all the equipment?

How many hours will it need to run for?

Sweet Diggy!
All we need to power is a DVD player, Movie Projector and a Sound System (of which I'm not sure of how much power it takes). All of this needs to be running for at least 4 hours (8pm to midnight or so). If we need to know the exact wattage, I can follow up with AREA54 to see what the power needs would be for the soundsystem they will be loaning to us.

It would be super sweet to run this all on solar power, and not have any gas generators running all night.

Let me know what you think?

Looks like the Port of HR is okay with our running this event, all I need to do is get the insurance and paperwork all together and it'll be a done deal.

Thanks
Pepi

Just browsing around quick, it looks like there's a lot of projectors in the 200-300w range. A DVD player is negligable, so I'd really only worry about the sound system. With an inverter rated at 2000w RMS, it'd be safe to say you've got ~13 amps to play with (unless you've got some crazy projector). How long it will run for depends on the batts.
