SI went off tonight!

Only three of us were dumb enough to ignore the bad gradients and marginal forecasts and cross our fingers after the fremont showed mid-teens.

I guess that harlot just wanted us coz she put out good.

Good caps everywhere, pretty consistent from 6pm on. I'd guess mid-teens.

Yeah, I think we'll be fine.

I've contacted the Portland Bureau of Environmental Services in the past and they've told me that there's no concern about health impact from CSO events once you get as far away from the events as where we kite.

I've got about 30 years of swimming in that part of the Columbia without any health issues. Maybe I'm immune now? Wink

Well, maybe next time.

Steve, do you own a landboard? I'd like to hit the coast later this winter, when I get mine. It'd be a blast to cruise down there with you guys sometime. Maybe we could film us and post some sweet jumps on nwKite?

Dude that was just me and I was overpowered on my 15M, just too lazy to pump up another kite. Kelton and Christiano were tearing it up on 13M and 12M's.

And mowing the lawn IS tearing it up for me. I got no KB skills yet. Rolling Eyes

Actually, it never felt like it even got to 9mph last night. I think I left about 6:30pm. With rain forecast for tonight, I had to give it another shot, even tho the odds looked pretty grim.

Side note, there's a beached sailboat that's been out there for two days now. About 150 yards south of the kite beach. High and dry!

The data is from the Scappoose airport sensor (not the DEQ sensor on the island) and it typically tracks fairly close to island wind speed. Also, the Fremont bridge sensor was reading fairly low wind speeds all day: http://www.wrh.noaa.gov/mesowest/getobext.php?wfo=pqr&sid=ODT10&num=48

Must have been some crazy current that day... Rolling Eyes
