Got word the other day that a reputable cable operator is working on a Portland site, don't know how far along in the process though.

The thought of a cable park is fantastic.
Too bad there are so many hurdles to putting one in.
Zoning, insurance, politics, profitibility etc.....
I hope it happens.
I have a new wakeboard that is not getting used enough.
Gas is expensive, boats are gas hogs

I heard the same rumor from the owners of Texas Ski Ranch last March when I was down there.

Any way we could find out more and help show demand/strength in numbers?

I don't think putting money down will make much sense or help that much. It needs to have a chance of being profitable for it to work and I doubt we'd have enough to fund it. What might help is gauging interest (maybe with a poll) and showing support where necessary, especially if there's a bunch of legal hoops to jump through. I guess if there's any way to get in touch with the people organizing this maybe we'd have a better idea of where they need our support. I know lots of us would be willing to put some time in to help make this happen if it looks feasible.

A cable park would be so SICK!!!

Does anybody know what stage of development this cable park is in? Are they still trying to get funding or is it past that and they are trying to jump through all the hoops needed to begin construction?

It'd be so sick if was indoor and heated (I realize that this is much more a fantasy than a reality) but getting a boardshort session in january would rule. Some one needs to contact Mr. Phil Knight and tell him that it would be a great marketing ploy for Nike 6.0. Anyone ever seen the indoor surf dome in Japan.
