Another way Bernake described the $700 billion is 5% of the mortgage market.

So its like figuring 5% of the homes are going to be foreclosed on (or already have been.)

This article about the mortgage crisis with a different point of view concerning current bailout discussion is worth reading. It is easy to forget those who struggle to stay in their homes because of adverse circumstances beyond their control.

after watching that everything becomes very x-files like, but you can't help looking at news on this with suspect...

ponderings...Meltdown caused in order to consolidate banks and further gain control of the US? All recessions precipitated by FED taking money out of the economy, including depression? not possible to ever be a debtless nation, neither the government or its people, as the system is rigged this way for a reason.

The way I see it, people -whatever government/party/person (or even animals!),
will control whatever they can, for the most part.
So if you can, take control of your own situation, or something/someone else might.
Easier said than done though, kinda like kiting sometimes I guess....
