New Ruben Vid - Dave vs. Adam

Dear people,

I sure hope you all know the real story !
Cause my preview was finished 4 months ago and was sent to Mira as a preview, then Mira decides that Adam should make it exacly the same as i had already made.
And I was then suddenly told that we'r not allowed to bring my finished movie out back then to give time for Adam to edit a proper copy.

So yes your Adam here copied te preview greatly, and made a nice movie anyway, as i told here already! I think it looks Briljant, and the footage he shot was awesome.
Both movies are good and benifit to the kitecommunity greatly, that what is important to me.

But please know the facts, before you start accusing me of being lame of taking credit of a editstyle, cause i do not, all i know is that i got fucked now real well by a very lame act from ss.. It's probably their way of saying 'thanks for all the years of free slingshot movies you made and distributed for free on you site' Confused

Just know the facts! don't flame and blame, just enjoy what you get now!

I split this into another topic. We don't want the controversey all over the video thread.

Dave - I think everyone's main issue is that Adam spent a lot of time shooting footage and doing editing and ultimately it was your copy (and only your copy) that got linked from Ruben's site. I'm not sure what part of the editing style your saying Adam took (the music?) but ultimately you took ALL of his footage so its kind of pot calling kettle black right?

I think everyone is cool with letting Ruben do what he wants with the footage out of respect, and everyone has a lot of respect for you. But we also respect Adam and want to make sure everyone gets credit where its due!

Like I said in the other thread, you were never supposed to have any of my footage, so none of this should have mattered anyway.

EDIT: The reason I couldn't post my vid until now was because the '09 LEN10 stuff was not ready to be launched.

I wouldn't go saying that Adam made it exactly the way that you did that is for sure. While your video is cool and there is some nice editing. In the big picture its a little jumbled and disjointed. Its like you have three introduction sections throughout the movie. Your 3:28 in and he's pumping up his kite, again?

As for the 'official ss len10 collection movie' Adam was to make that, while i just made a personal movie for Ruben (his regular travelmovie), with footage ruben gave me. That is all i know.
While i was the first to finish the movie and showing it 4 months ago.
From there we were told to wait to premiere it. For what you might ask?
Well i guess it's evident now with Adams movie came out. the song used, the way the slomo are build up etc... all the same.
And even that-after all that doesn't matter , cause the movie is great.
But do not call me editstyle sthief or a lame act by me... Cause it just is not!

And Adam, please just be honest, instead of avoiding the truth with replies and comments that are off-opic and do not discuss the real matter here, or worst just being silent about this matter.
People think i'm the ripp-off here, you think that is fair?

And if you had it commanded to you (by i don'tknow) to make it like my preview, all you had to do was email me to say you want to edit it the way you got inspired by.
I would have defintely made a different movie myself then, and threw away mine just for you, as i do support you in being a pro-moviemaker for Slingshot or others.
You have amazing progress., It is your footage, your assignement, and i will not stand in the way of any of that.

As i told before don't flame and blame , just know the facts first, and be happy with what we have now : Two historical supermovies of the Extremophile Ruben Len10 ripping like a madman. IN HD for free, for everyone ! Double Cool

- one more thing:
I also know it's very understanding you all here and other peole like Adam's movie more, cause it is just stunning. That doesn't bother, au contraire, i enjoy itand it keeps me focused to do better next time (and never ever sent previews away for approval so soon) Very Happy

you both put out some really cool stuff.
I have always enjoyed the LEN10 series dave puts out. I'm hoping they continue.
Dave I can understand your frustration. it's an unfortunate situation and not sure what this thread is trying to imply.

Sounds like this is an adam/dave/Slingshot problem.

We've seen your videos and you have my respect.

just so you boys out there know, when you use the word "lame" when someone pours hours of hard work into video editing and then gives you a free viewing, it's hard for them to want to put more videos out there on the forums.
IMO, Dave should never receive this kind of feedback whether adam did a video or not.
Once again dave, you provide a huge stoke contribution to our sport and it is very much appreciated by all. Keep up the great work!
I'm going to take a break from the drama as I have two teenage daughters and that's plenty enuff for me.
