ok, so there is no monster truck competition but I'm wondering what peoples thoughts are on rooster/ sauvies.

George says much the same as today in store for tomorrow. I was dreaming of a morning rooster sesh but it looks like that probably isn't going to happen huh.

Sauvie? On the flood from 2:30 until 6:30 or so. Sad

asically looking at the same situation here next 24 hrs across the Pacific NW, not unusual at all as these early fall high pressure dominant patterns can often lock in 3 or 4 days straight. The official beginning of the wake/waterski season for Central Gorge sites but also just enough offshore gradient to get winds at Stevenson / Rooster up into the large kite/sail range as well. Pattern looks stable enough to hold together yet again TUE. Now along the OR Coast... we'll see a continuation of the moderate northerly flow pop up once again SUN but directions cant from NNW to N and we see an increase in lull / gust ratios w/ shadowing problems on a per site basis.

Western Gorge: Light AM, easterly trend develops in the PM w/ mid to occasional upper teens (late) Stevenson down to Rooster Rock.

Central Gorge: Light AM, slow turn easterly thru the PM but winds remain in single digit range thru Corridor.

Eastern Gorge: Light easterlies, may touch low teens Maryhill thru PM.

Jones Beach: Light winds.

Sauvie Island: NNW 12-15 thru the PM hours.

Coast: North beaches NNW14-18, Central and South sites 18-24. Note above comment regarding dir shift NNW to N.

Tomorrow I'll hopelessly park myself at SI for a change. Most of the afternoon today I played a do-nothing waiting game at RR. Basically you sit at intently observer the flag hoping it would change from pitiful W to promising E....

SI came up about 5:30 or so today. It was a blast while it was working. Side-offshore so it was a little funky at the beach, but once you got out it was nice and steady with only light chop. I'm 160-lbs and I was lit on a 13M and a 136 recoil.

And it was working at about 3:30pm up at the nude beach, if you consider pumping a 15M on a Jimmy Lewis flight deck with no fins "working".

I might try going up to the turn-around at the end of the dirt road early in the day if I go out there tomorrow. There was a bunch of sail boats and dark water earlier in the day closer to St. Helens.

But RR also sounds fun if it looks like it will go off there tomorrow.

If RR isn't blowing by 11am, its probably not going to happen. Though the easterlies did seem to build a little later today.. Stevenson was real windy when we passed by around noon.

Sunday will be good
